Director's Note:

            Fourteen years ago, I was asked by a friend to volunteer an afternoon of my time in a teen shelter. As a youth, I had searched for volunteer opportunities and had been turned away due to my age. When I arrived for this assignment, I brought with me a chip on my shoulder from being overlooked and under-estimated. I quickly realized that in this agency my age was an asset. It was the caring staff with a positive youth development outlook that empowered me and thousands of youth over the past 32 years. I invite you to become a part of our family and help us touch the lives of youth and their families across Alabama.

Tennessee Valley Family Services (TVFS) is a nonprofit agency formed in 1977 by a group of concerned citizens. The agency is focused on helping youth and families succeed. Our five programs offer hope in crisis and strength in times of family uncertainty.
